Mónica Teresa Ortiz is a poet born and raised in Texas. Ortiz was a 2021–2022 journalist in residence with Freedomways and a 2021–2022 artist in residence with UT Austin’s Planet Texas 2050. They have work forthcoming in Hayden Ferry’s Review and Scalawag.
